HAPPY 9TH BIRTHDAY to our precious baby HARRISON!
After YEARS of unsuccessful begging, TeamBailey finally convinced mom to GET A DOG, and we did.
We got TEDDY. We were going to a nearby breeder to LOOK ONLY and the breeder urged us to: "Take him home, he's ready." TEDDY wasn't. He was too young to be away from his mother and, no one knew, but he also had a liver issue. We had him for 2 weeks, most was spent at the NCSU Veterinary Hospital. Teddy's passing broke our hearts.
Months later I secretly started looking at all the puppy breeder photos I could find, and mind you, I've never been a dog-person, ask anyone. Then...THAT FACE!! His birth-name was Fenway and his eyes were so "human". After doing LOTS of homework, I called the breeder in Texas; Michele at Almost Famous Dogs. Fenway was spoken for. Another heartbreak.
A week passed and for some reason (fate), I called Michele back to say, "If anything happens that makes FENWAY available, PLEASE CALL US!" Now here is my horrible guilt, I prayed so hard for FENWAY to be ours, and my prayers were (obviously) answered. The family who first wanted him lost a job and now couldn't take him. *I know.
DECEMBER 9, 2011 at about 9:42 PM we headed to the airport to pick up our 5th family member. He was OURS! His crate was packed with love and attention to style. Blue & Brown animal print ribbons and a snuggly blanket (he still sleeps with). After much family debate, he was named HARRISON, but today he'll answer to Harrison, HareBear, Wiggle-Butt, Pookers, Sweet-Baby or TREAT!
